Being Vegan

I have a love-hate relationship with my diet/lifestyle choices.

This mostly stems from my soy allergy/intolerance.

"Wait. What? You're vegan and don't eat soy? How do you live? I thought you all only ate like... tofu and stuff."

In fact, I hate soy. I avoid it like the plague. In teeny-tiny-dip-your-veggie-sushi-in-the-soy-sauce quantities, it's fine. But I'm not about to have some tofu scramble for breakfast, or have a glass of soy milk with my vegan cookies, or have some soy-"beef" chili. Mostly because if I did, my body would hate itself for the rest of the day. I would adore being able to have soy yogurt with my cereal for breakfast. Or some chocolate soy ice cream with peanut chunks in it. Yum, right? Yeah... except for the soy part.

It sucks enough being a. lazy and b. vegan when grocery shopping for something you can just easily pop into the microwave and then eat. Which is gross, actually, but also super quick when you're exhausted or starving, which is nice. Being vegan is limiting enough, but then you factor in the fact that I don't eat soy and that throws half the "healthy lifestyles" section of the grocery store out the window.

So yeah, it's limiting and kind of annoying when all I really want is some fake'in or ice cream sandwiches.
But that's enough of the hate.

Like I first said, it's a LOVE-hate relationship, not an "I hate being vegan so I'm going to stop now" relationship.

I adore being vegan. It's one of my favourite choices that I've made. Right up there with reading Harry Potter, watching Doctor Who, and going to the London Dungeon with my mum when I was 16. Talking of, another excellent decision was buying that horribly unflattering picture of us on that ride at the end... even though my mum DEFINITELY specifically instructed me that I was, under no circumstances whatsoever to purchase that particular print. Of course I did anyway, far too hilarious. I don't regret this at all, and I also do not regret the fact that I still have it... even though she told me to cut her out of it and get rid of it. Wouldn't dream of it. Pretty sure that was about 5 years ago. How time flies.

Anyway, this is supposed to be about how much I love being vegan. Because meat is gross, cheese is creepy, and who the fuck would drink another animal's bodily fluids. Like really. Ew.

Meat is murder and dairy is rape... and I'm pompous as fuck. At least I can admit it. So yes. I do kind of think I'm a little better than you because I don't eat things that had the ability to scream while being murdered for your consumption. But y'know. Whatever.

I've Said It Once

I'll say it twice.
My veganism does not extend to footwear. Call me what you want, I don't care. You won't keep me away from vans and docks. Or the occasional leather belt. For that matter.

I need these. <3

Trick Or Treat, Thank You, Happy Halloweeeeeeeen

I used to have this creeper skeleton hand that would say those three phrases. It doubled as a candy bag collector thing before I got old enough to use a pillow case. Anyway. Halloween is in a week and I've only just decided what I'm being. Zombie GaGa. Because being actual Lady GaGa just isn't messy enough for me. I'm going for that more, newly dead, look than that rotting corpse look. Sort of like I have only just burst from the ground (dirt included). In order to do this, I have had to do some research on what actual dead people look like.

Now, as at least my parents are completely aware, dead bodies give me the creeps at funeral homes. I don't want to look at them, I don't want to touch them, and if there is an open casket, I'll be in the other room, thank-you-very-much. Apparently when my grandfather died, everyone went to go see him get cremated... where was I? At summer camp putting a car together. Funnest day ever! I wonder what I would have come up with to get me out of that had I not had camp to go to?

Anyway. The point is. I don't like dead bodies when they're like, 3 feet away. Apparently I'm not at all bothered by pictures though. In fact, I'm quite intrigued. There's this picture of a body lying open on an autopsy table. I'm sure most people think that's gross... but I'm absolutely fascinated by it. The main thing I've noticed about these bodies, is that in order to look dead, you have to have a kind of blue tinge to your lips. I think that's the key, because apart from that, and all the blood and gore of having severed legs and opened thoraxes, they look asleep.

I find myself obsessing over David Bowie of late. Because he is hot. And I really want his hair. And I wonder why in the world I never watched Labyrinth when I was a kid. Possibly my parents wanted to protect me from David Bowie's giant crotch that stars in nearly every scene. I'm sure I would have thoroughly enjoyed it though. Instead of being in love with Christopher Reeve and Harrison Ford forever, I could have been that one awesome six year old who walked around in Bowie t-shirts singing Space Oddity or something. Ah, well. I'll just get his face tattooed on my arm with his scene girl hair to make up for lost time at some point.

I've finally gone to the store and discovered they have a vegetarian and other health nuts aisle. Which makes it so much easier for me to stop being lame and go back to being vegan. They even have tofurkey!!! Stoked. Tofurkey is my favourite food in the world. Which reminds me that I am hungry and should go make some tofu scramble and juice. In a sec. Or two.

This is all for now. =]

I Was Dancing When I Was Three

So, the other day, a mouse visited me in my room. Surprised me rather much. It was kinda cute though. It was little and brown. Didn't stay long. I haven't mentioned it to my roommates yet.

Saturday, David came and we basically did a restaurant crawl. We started with cookies and chocolate bars, then went down the street for Japanese food. Then up and over to Bloor and Spadina for pizza at Cora's. That was funny... apparently some drunk guy tried to fight a cop and 4 other cop cars showed up and they held him down and stuff. We were watching out the front of the window. It was really funny. After that, we went to get nachos at Sneaky Dee's, but the bouncer didn't accept my Michigan ID (which doesn't look fake at all). So we went across the street to the Bistro and got a mini pitcher of screwdriver and then two shots each. They tasted yummy! We then went down to a boss pizza parlour/general restaurant at Queen and Parliament and got yummy vegan soup.

We came back to my house and watched Enchanted, and then David went home. Best Valentine's Day EVER. Haha, mostly because although we are single people, we're not the creepy bitter ones who complain about cutesy couples who probably hate each other anyway.

Yesterday, I watched fairy tale movies ALL. DAY. LONG. And this morning, I watched lots of Grey's, season five, say whaa?

Du Hast Mich

So Friday I hung out and partied with the roomies since it was Sam's birthday. I mostly hung out with cute Brian who was stranded from Waterloo. We hung out and talked a bit and then went to Fran's. He bought me french fries. They were the goods.

Brian stayed the night on the sex futon in the basement. In the morning, we went to UrbHerb and got breakfast. He got coffee and a muffin, I got some epic curry and their amazing vegan hot chocolate.

After that, he wandered around Kensington Market and then probably down to Queen West to sell these boss buttons he makes out of comic books. He gave me a joker one. I headed off to my job interview at the burrito place. I think it went quite well, but I'll also have to go looking other places. I need my computer to turn on again so that I can weasel my resume out of it and print a bunch off.

I hung out with David after my interview. We went to Sneaky's for dinner. I loooove that place. The super cute guy from the other night was our server! He was wearing an s4c shirt. It was cute. We came home and watched movies and then decided to watch really hilariously bad porn, which is always fun.

FrankenMac will be back soonish I'm sure.

FrankenMac Is Back

This computer is insane. I swear. It really is FrankenMac... I should get it some stickers for being good to me. Something better than The White Tie Affair.

Speaking of stickers, I should also get some for my new bass. Oh how I love it. It really is pathetically easy to be okay at it. Unlike drums... I still sound like Meg White, however, when I get some space, I'll work on that. For now though, it's just my bass and I... also my french horn, but I'm not so sure my roomies would appreciate me actually playing it, so I'll stick to fingering. God that sounds dirty.

Tabs are my new favourite thing. As is 12:51 by The Strokes. Click it to check it out and download it if you want. I can now play 2 songs on the bass. Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, and 12:51. Working on more. Come to think of it, I can probably play Seven Nation Army on the drums too, and I can sing it.

Yesterday, I found that my friend Rob did me a hilarious favour. There is an injoke that a bunch of friends and I have, so I made an album to go with our fake band. He put it up on his blog, so anyone can download the single.

Friday was a fun day. I called my friend David bright and early and he came over and we went and got pizza and tried out KFCCanada's new vegetarian sandwiches. We hung out for a while, then he went to class, but he was back later, so we hung out more and made uh... songs? on my computer. Funniest thing ever. We've decided we need a myspace and an album cover.

Hot,pInk.cUnt's single and remix can be found here.

Jesus.

Good Lord I hate border patrol. Today was the family Christmas party in River Canard, which is about 20 minutes outside of Windsor.

I woke up early enough and made myself some tofu noodles with soy sauce and molasses which were super yumm. Anyway, I talked to Alex on the phone forever which was aces. I went and got gasoline and gatorade before heading across the border.

So, my car is super mess and I have like... 6 or so stolen McCain lawn signs in there. I told the guy at customs what was in the back, clothes, shoes, stolen McCain lawn signs, and he thought I meant like... jacked street signs and told me he could get me arrested. He scared the shit out of me for like... 3 minutes just talking about that and then clarified exactly what kind of signs they were. He was like, oh... well that's childish but fine. Go ahead to your family party. I was like, HOLYFUCKINGSHIT.

Anyway, family party was good. Marty is a TOTAL brat and a half. The first thing he says when I walk in is, "you look weird." I was like, "durrr... i AM weird." Uncle Joe was there, which was way cool. I miss him. Since he got divorced from Aunt Renee, he never comes around anymore so it was aces seeing him. Anyway, we did the white elephant thing and I ended up with some decidedly non-vegan candy... oops. Oh well. I ate it anyway. No use wasting excellent Toblerone and Worther's.

Anyway, I went home and on the way through the border, got asked if I had been arrested or did drugs at least 3 times each. I was like, no. Seriously. But yeah... fun times. I got some fries at Maccas because they're so epic. When I got home I interneted for a while before talking to Alex for the first time in FOREVER. I miss him!!! Anyway, a little ways into the conversation, he asked if I was really pregnant.

WHHAAAAATTT?!?!!?!!? Um... no. I'm not.

Anyway, apparently Mrs. Smith didn't get that the preggo ness was a halloween costume. So she told her husband, Greg, Alex, and a bunch of other people. AWKWARD. Anyway, I cleared that up fast.

I'm hanging out with my friend Brendan tomorrow and then he's taking me to get my lip pierced. YEE!!! I'll post pictures. But first we're gonna make OUTTTT. Yay! I'll have a new answer to put on surveys besides, Libby, as the last person I kissed. Hahaha.

Yeah. Awkward day.

After The Eulogy

This morning Mum and I went to Aunt Pat's funeral. In my humble opinion, funerals are the worst thing on earth... just short of silverfish, getting blood drawn, and seeing people throw up.

When my mum was in nursing school, Pat was her roommate, and then they started dating and had grand drinking adventures, such as bringing a full body resuscitation anne dressed in the school uniform to the bar with them and then getting caught while sneaking it back in. My parents were at the conception of Pat's son, Jesse. A bit awkward I guess. But apparently they decided to have a party to artificially inseminate Kris, so my cousin was conceived surrounded by lesbians.

I was born in Seattle, and when we moved to Michigan when I was two weeks old, we lived at Pat and Kris' house. We had Canadian Thanksgiving at their house, went over every Christmas to exchange presents, had birthday parties together, and sometimes went over for dinner just for fun while I was growing up. Pat and Kris were basically second parents and my mum is one of Jesse's many godmothers.

Until today, I hadn't seen any of them for about five years. Last time I saw Aunt Pat, I never thought it would be the last time I would ever see her in my life. I can't stand the fact that I'm never going to see her again. I'll never get to hug her, and I will never hear her laugh again, and Aunt Pat was ALWAYS laughing; her laugh stands out among all my other memories of her. I missed her before she died, words pale in comparison to my current feelings. I kind of just expected her to walk in laughing at the funeral, just for fun, it's really hard to believe that she's gone.

My mother discovered my "Imperio" tattoo at the funeral which was slightly comical. I was adjusting my bracelets and she glanced down and asked, "What's that?" Thinking she was talking about one of my new bracelets which has a scorpion encased in glow in the dark resin, I said, "A scorpion." She grabbed my hand, turned it over and stared at my wrist for a minute. Oh. That. She didn't ask, just sort of shook her head.

There was a reception sort of thing back at their house. The food was epic. I walked in and wondered aloud if there was anything I could eat, and at least five people started pointing out things that were vegan. I was like, how did you know? It was a little crazy. Afterward, I stood around with mum while she talked to a bunch of people about how my mother's brain is deteriorating. Pleasant. I just love thinking about it, especially after a funeral. When my parents die, I probably wont go to the funerals. I don't think I could stand it.

I came home and danced around my room naked to Rihanna's "Disturbia" I seriously love that song.

Her Name Is Noel; She Rings My Bell

Today I woke up super early for me and promptly fell back to sleep. My mother bribed me into going to breakfast with a promise of hair gel. We went to a cafe with the grands and I had the most epic tofu scramble ever. It had avacado and tomatoes in it; I'll be wanting more tomorrow.

After breakfast, my mother and I walked to Long's to get hairshit. I literally ran into my uncle and cousin while strolling around looking at the floor which was super awkward. After we were done shopping, we went outside to wait to be picked up by my grandma. While we were out waiting, some 40 year old loser who hated life decided to give me hair advice. He was like, "You should grow out the back blah, blah, blah and wear your 'hawk like that." I ignored him and he kept talking loudly at me while locking his bike up. He clearly didn't understand that his advice was unwelcome.

Any normal person would get the clue to STFU, but this freak didn't seem to get it. Oh well. Anyway, he basically said that I should wear it in a mullhawk, "hey 90's I miss you! come back!" ...Lying. Please don't. I hate it when people refer to a mohawk as a "hawk" just like I hate it when people call tattoos "tats". It sounds retarded and besides, it's a hairstyle and tribe of indigenous peoples; not a bird. I personally prefer to do it up English and call it a mohican. The man's loud suggestions honestly made me laugh my ass off. I suppose this was rude, but so was he.

On his way into the store, finally, he goes, "Believe it or not, I used to call myself gutter punk. I still wear the colours." As soon as the doors closed behind him my mother turns to me and completely deadpan, says, "He used to be gutter punk. Aren't you impressed?" I literally collapsed on the ground laughing. I really did almost pee. My mother is hilarious; and I was highly un-impressed. On his way back out of the shop, he decided to address my mother. "Mom, don't worry, this phase she's in will pass. I dropped out of it after about ten years." As if my mother was remotely ashamed of me. And there is no "phase" that I'm in. I enjoy having unique hair is all. I don't label myself anything as I neither believe in labels nor think I fit under any that exist. Clearly he hated his life and was jealous that I was so comfortable. I suppose he thought I was trying to rebel. I was just a bit of a rebel when I was 17 since I wasn't allowed to do certain things. Being 18 I just do whatever I want and am allowed to anyway, so it's no rebellion. How sad and pathetic this man was.

He took it just a step too far though when he was riding away, calling back, "Lay off the drugs." How fucking dare anyone make assumptions like that about me based on my hair. Just because I'm relaxed and comfortable about myself does not at all mean that I'm on drugs since I'm not angry at the world like he probably was. I mean, yeah, I do hate quite a few people, but that's because as a whole, I think people are stupid, and I'm kind of a genius. Not my fault. I shouted back, "I'm straight-edge, thanks!" Which really isn't true, but it's better than saying, "I rarely smoke pot and I drink responsibly!" besides, I was wearing a shirt that said, "Kiss me. I don't smoke." Durr... fucking hate morons.

After that lovely incident, an excellent woman talked to me about my awesome hair, asked if I was in cosmetology school, which I'm going to be, and said, "Don't worry; I'll run him over when I leave." I gave her a hug. Grandma took my mother and I to a vegan bakery which was aces high. I got short bread and cupcakes, then we picked up my cousin. I watched Home Alone 3 which is the funniest Christmas movie ever.

Sorry! is decidedly my least favourite game in the universe. It sucks and a half.

Whenever I Want You, All I Have To Do Is Dream

So this morning I woke up at a decent hour and got dressed in a flash and ran out to the car and we drove up to Boulder Creek to get our nails done. Mine are dark blue with sparkles; pretty ace.

Anyway, on the way back, I decided I wanted my hair done. We had Mexican for lunch, well, I had chips. Then we went to the redwood forrest for a little bit and didn't walk around since it was too cold, but I climbed up on this huge sign and my mom took my picture on it.

We got back into town and stopped off at the local cosmetology school to see if I could get my hair done. I could! This hot metal chick named Grace did my hair. She had some ace tattoos, including a huge elaborate spade right over her throat. She said she had gotten some Johnny Thunders lyrics on her ribs and that hurt so badly that everything else is a walk in the park. I don't care. I still want Psalm 23 down the right side of my ribcage and something else on the other side as well.

I guess I've decided to fuck it all, because I've got my hawk back. Haha... I can't seem to stay away from it. I love it though. The whole process took three hours! First she shaved it back into a hawk because it was uneven and the sides had gotten long. Anyway, we bleached it all out, died the top red, coon-tailed the fringe red and black, and then put black zebra stripes on the sides. It's aces high and a half. Pictures coming later. Anyway, my online buddy Kate came in while I was looking super dorky with foil all in my face so we finally got to meet which was totally stellar. She was great.

Anyway, I hung out at home on facebook for a bit before discovering that my sort-of aunt Pat died yesterday morning. I was horrified because it was totally unexpected, I'm basically half a world away right now, and she really helped raise me. She and my mum were roommates in nursing school before they started dating and then they were best friends after that. But we haven't been as close in recent years, but when my "cousin" Jesse and I were young, we always went over there Christmas afternoon. I'm really going to miss her. She was always a lot of fun when we did see each other. Mum and I are going to the funeral since I'll be back by then.

I made some fierce bread pudding while talking on the phone to my awkward uncle Dave. He's so great. I haven't talked to him in forever, but we really get each other and when I'm home, I'll be calling him a lot I think since it's free as we both have Verizon, besides, he's really a laugh. He's a guitar player/computer programer and a total paranoid pessimist. I love him. Anyway, he's coming for Christmas which should be really great. I'm excited!

I'm totally jet lagged still, which I'm pretty stoked about because I'd rather not adjust to this time zone, thank you very much. I'll be sleeping now.

Lord Knows I'm A Voodoo Child, Baby

So, this morning I passed out hoping not to dream. Do I ever get my wish? Of course not.

I had this weird dream about a carnival, probably influenced by Final Destination 3 that I watched with Eric last night. Anyway, guess who was in it? My haunter. Thanks.

I woke up at 1, talked to some people online and then got dressed and headed to Verizon to get my phone fixed. It didn't take long, all they did was reset it, which was convenient and I can do it myself if it stops working again.

After that, I headed down to ROT to get my lip touched up. Fun times, but I love that it's free.

I like that it's still bloody in the picture.

I discovered, when I tried to rent Kill BIll Volume 1 that we don't have a Blockbuster movie pass anymore, so I headed right to the grocery store and bought a whole bunch of microwaveable thai food. YUM!!!

Anyway, I suppose I might go to sleep soonish, because I'm super tired. Maybe I won't dream... fat chance.

Making Christmas

I have no idea when I last updated this blog… whether it was before Friday or after. It makes a huge difference, so I guess I’ll just blog for Friday and if it turns out that I already did, I’ll just delete the section, because currently I’m sitting in Anthropology and I have no internet access. Suckage!!!!

Never mind. I just got half-way through Friday before I remembered that I had already blogged about it. Oh well…

So… Saturday I woke up bright and early, went home, packed some clothes and such, then went to pick up mum. I drove to the Walkerville station in Windsor. It smells like beer there… oh yum! I love that smell.

The train ride there wasn’t too bad. My headphones broke. Great. When we got there, it was rainy and gross. Fun… We took, a taxi to our hotel, put our stuff in the room, and then ventured out into the rain to eat yummy vegan food at Fressen on Queen West. We got there and it was totally booked up. Great…

Oh, I forgot to mention… for some reason, I was under the (mistaken) impression that it would be rather warm and balmy in Toronto, so all I brought was a sweatshirt. Fun.

We walked around in the freezing cold rain for a little while before getting a cab. The driver was from Africa or something and didn’t really speak English very well, so we basically spewed out a bunch of bull shit at him. He told my mother that I’m very pretty and look like Boy George. Great…

So anyway, we decided just to go back to the hotel and eat there. The food was pretty good and The Notebook was on TV in the restaurant. After dinner, we went upstairs and watched TV until we fell asleep.

The next morning, we had breakfast at Eaton and went out to find an internet cafĂ© and check out Craig’s List. I found a place pretty quickly and called to see when I could go check it out. It’s in an amazing neighbourhood two feet away from Yonge between College and Dundas, right down the street from Eaton and 2 underground stations.

I got the place. It’s a 4-story building with 1 porch and 2 balconies. I have 9 roommates and I’m moving in January. It’s a short walk from anywhere I could possibly want to go. After that, we went shopping at Eaton. I got 2 way cute shirts at Boathouse. One says “Kiss Me, I don’t smoke.” And the other is just really cute and has cassette tapes on it. I also got a boss new pair of green and black Skull Candy headphones; my signature accessory, as I was the first person to have a pair that I know. It’s my 4th pair… well, sort of, my 3rd pair were just ear buds. We mostly hung out in the hotel after that and watched Hancock before going to sleep.

Monday morning, we had breakfast in the hotel and then went to check out Marvel. After a terrifying subway ride, we got there. Now, I love subways, but traveling with mum and her ridiculous walker which, I have to carry up and down all the stairs with her is a pain in the fucking ass. I hate it.

The director was super nice and he really liked me. I’m so excited to start school there. He was like, “You’re kind of a funky person...” and I’m like, yeah totally, so he’s like, “Yes… I’m checking you out. You should probably work somewhere on Queen West,” and I was like, hell yeah.

So after that, we went shopping again, then I went and met with my landlord Marco. After that, I met mum back at Eaton, we went shopping more and then had some food. I found a new tattoo artist. He’s like Miss Kitty and used to work in a real shop, but now works out of his apartment. Bombass! I'm so fucking cheap... haha. So then we went back to the hotel and I forced mother to watch The Dark Knight with me as she hadn’t seen it yet.

This morning, I nearly killed mum by dropping Pieter Van Den Hoogenband’s name while she was drinking her coffee. Nice… We packed up our stuff and headed out to the train station. We got to board first since she is handi-capped. Sweetness.

The train ride was pretty boring since my internet doesn’t seem to be working… grrr!! I’ll need to get that fixed…

Anyway, I talked to Libby for a while and managed to drop my phone and pop it out of the case while I was falling over mum to get to the bathroom. I talked to Libby and Carol for a while after that before getting home. Yay home.

I only had an hour or so at home before I had to go to Anthropology, which is where I am now. On my way here, though, I called John over at Ink Slingers and checked to make sure that he is free tomorrow. He is, and I’m going over to get one of my wings shaded. Although I don’t really have the money yet, I will soon and I’ll make sure to give him half of my weekly pay each week in December. Yay! I’ll be so glad to have $100 per week instead of $50 like I have now. I’m glad he’ll do it even if I don’t quite have the money yet. He <3s me!

Anyway… this class sucks, so I’m probably going to leave and go home to upload this online and then talk to people online and be a dork. Yay! My battery is dying…

Yeah... I left class. Now I'm talking about sex with Libby and watching A Nightmare Before Christmas.

It's Not Real Joe

Yeah, yeah, I've been naughty not updating lately. Sorry.

My Chiodos/Silverstein tickets came in the mail the other day. I haven't been home in forever since first I was visiting mum and packing stuff and such, and now I'm babysitting the cats again. I had to stay up all night last night so that I could actually be awake to sign for a cheque. Then I went to sleep and slept until like four or so.

I called Erin to see if she wanted to go trick or treating with me. We were either going to be two general guys, Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso, or something else undecided. We ended up going as a couple from Kentucky. She was a guy with a mullet and a ridiculous fake moustache and I was rather convincingly pregnant. Which I kind of enjoyed.

We first went around Oak Park, and then to Pleasant Ridge to see Mrs. Smith, which is always fun. She was handing out Jolly Ranchers, which rocked because they're totally vegan. SCORE! Anyway, Mr. Smith wasn't there because FHS had a football game, which was super dumb because it was Halloween.

At this one house, this guy was like, "Well I can tell what you are, haha," and looking at my belly. And I was like, "What?" and made it seem like I actually was pregnant, and he was so embarrassed. It was hilarious. We wondered how many people actually thought we were pregnant.

After PR, we went to 7-11 because I wanted a slurpie. Those cravings, ya know? Haha. Anyway, after that, we went to Royal Oak where they were handing out whole big candy bars, which I really couldn't eat anyway. Apparently Erin's cute older brother Bill was somewhere around there... fun stuff.

After we were done in Royal Oak, we went to see KT and Don and stuff in Ferndale. We stayed there for a while. It was pretty funny, because KT was all poking my belly and then after a minute she was like, "Whoa, wait! Please tell me you're not actually pregnant, because that totally feels real!" Then Don came a bit later and was like, "Wait... you're pregnant?" and we all started laughing and he was so confused and finally his friend was like, "Clearly it's fake because they're all laughing."

A while later, Joe finally came. As soon as he walked over, Don goes, "Hey Joe! Jordan's pregnant!" and he's all like, "Whatt??" and he goes, "It's fake.... right? .... .... right? ... it is fake, right?" it was funnier than sin. It wasn't until we were all leaving that KT was like, "It's not real Joe." It was so mint.

After we left, we went back to Erin's and watched Juno while I sorted out my vegan candy from my non-vegan candy and gave Erin the non-vegan pile. Too bad there weren't any blue slushies to go with my Juno-ness....

Organization 13

Yesterday I hung out with my friend Robbie, and then went over to my moms' house again for a little while, then I went to Fencing. It was kind of awesome, because I showed my tattoo to Adam, and the first thing he said was "Haha! Oranization Thirteen!" although he was probably kidding. I was like, "OMG! YES!!!" Because that's exactly what it is.

Anyway, I apparently missed the written final last week since I skipped to get my tattoo done. Oh well... Anyway, we were split up into two groups, and you had to fence everyone in your group for five touches and then go report who won the match. I won all of mine, which was fun. So after that, I got to fence Aisan Dude because we were both uber bored. Sabres a-hoy. Yuss!! Of course, I sucked because I haven't been permitted to fence sabre since Culver, and he fences all the time.

Anyway, then I talked to my friend Andrew while he was on his way in and I was on my way out. After that, I went back to my parents house and watched Grey's Anatomy with mother and then watched movies.

This morning, I didn't want to wake up. So I didn't. At about 4, mother and I went to a vegan cafe down the road, and then to fedxkinkos to buy boxes. Then we got all of my clothes and put them in the living room. HUGE. ASS. PILE. So after sorting through what I actually wanted, and what is getting thrown away, and what I'm giving to the rummage sale, I started separating all the clothes that I'm keeping into boxes and such. Obviously I have to keep some of it out, but most of it will stay in boxes to go to Toronto because I really don't require that much clothing right now.

After packing for a while, I got rather tired and decided to go to bed. I can't wait to see Metro Station tomorrow!!!

Lava Cake

I really couldn’t sleep last night, so I mostly kind of dozed and when I would happen to wake up, I would reset ‘The Golden Compass’ which I kind of had running on re-run all night. At about 4 or 5, I got tired of that and put on ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’, one of my personal favorites… naturally. At about six, I got up and had breakfast. A fake corndog, pineapples, and the five drops of my soymilk that were left since I’m pretty sure my roommates drank most of it. Thanks guys...

After that, I put some popcorn in the microwave and went and woke up my roommate because he was parked behind me, and the neighbor parks SOOO weird so I really couldn’t get out of the driveway any other way. This was about seven. So anyway, I went and brought my mom the popcorn for breakfast. On my way over, I came to realize something horribly depressing. Summer is 100% and truly over and dead. This is my 18th year and so far, it’s the best year of my life, starting from my birthday, of course.

So anyway, we chilled for a bit, then went to the health food store. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see Hillary Tamm there, because I was pretty sure she was staying at MSU until at least the end of the semester. We had a fun little chat and then my mom and I headed to the mall because I was promised 4 items of clothing and 2 pairs of shoes for my birthday in June and I still hadn’t gotten them.

We went to Hot Topic and I browsed through the gothic Tripp pants, tried some on, and remembered exactly why I don’t wear them. They look ridiculous and highly unattractive, especially on girls. So then I found this amazing bright blue pair of Tripp scene pants, which were crazy awesome. So I tried those on and decided I needed them and another pair of black ones as well. I also got a sleeveless Gir hoodie, which is totally adorable. Love em!

So after that, I popped into Forever 21 and got this sweet grey hat. Viva winter! Anyway, after that, we went to a bike store and checked out all the fixed-gear bikes. I found a totally awesome one. It’s super light and black and awesome. I won’t be able to get it until about Christmas though, but I’m super excited. It’s going to be my main mode of transport when I move to Toronto in January. That and the underground.

Anyway, after that, we came home and I made super yummy lava cakes. We ate them while watching ‘Hocus Pocus’, but I’m pretty sure I fell asleep like, half way through. Oh, and I totally skipped French class to hang out with my dorky mom. But it was so fun!

Anyway, after the movie, I took a nap until 5 or so and then we had dinner and watched ‘Sixteen Candles’. After that, I did the dishes, because I promised. I’ll probably end up staying the night, and then tomorrow Mom will come over and help me put together my dresser… finally, I’ve been putting it off.

I Am The Walrus

Very early this morning, say… 4 or so, I discovered the most amazing food ever. Tofurkey and applesause sandwiches. What you do, is you put a bunch of faux butter on both pieces of toast, and then you put a slice of tofurkey on top of that, and then add a spoonful of applesauce, then another layer of tofurkey and so on until you get to your last piece of tofurkey, and you put the other slice of bread on top, then cut it in half and eat it. It’s AMAZING.

I woke up at like… 1 or two, watched the rest of Little Miss Sunshine, and started straightening up the house. It took a few hours, but after I was done, I got dressed and watched Law and Order. I’m so excited for Jeff Goldblum to be on that show!!! I met him once in Hollywood. Sort of… he bumped into my friend and I and apologized. He was sooo tall!

I rode my crap bike to school. I can’t wait to get another one. Fixed-gear baby, yeah! I parked it at the school, then walked to Starbucks a few blocks down the street and got a hot chocolate… soy, of course. It was bloody freezing and my legs went numb. I got back to school and went to the classroom to wait for class to start.

Overly-Religious Lady came in and I got into a long drawn out some-what one-sided conversation that I couldn’t really get myself out of, which was kind of annoying. Because I didn’t want to be rude and ignore her, but I really just wanted to listen to my music… loudly.

So far, I’m loving being a vegan, although I haven’t exactly been strict lately, I did JUST start, so please go easy on me vegans of the world. And usually, when I slip up, it’s because I didn’t know a food item wasn’t vegan.

Class was kind of boring. We watched a pretty good movie though. Half way through class, I threw my pencil at Jim and he stole it. I want it back. I have a shortage of good drawing pencils and that was one of them… and it had been in my mouth earlier.

After class, I rode my bike home, which was kind of awful. It was freezing and my legs were all numb, and I fell over adjusting the strap on my bag. So now my inner knee is all scraped up from my bike. I need one of those single strap backpacks that go diagonally and clip… My mother said she’s get me a new bike for Christmas. YAY!!! I’ll just have to pick it out and see how expensive it is. Hopefully it’s not too expensive.

Anyway, I think I’ll attempt to get to French class somewhat on time tomorrow, so that means going to sleep now-ish… or maybe I’ll order some pinapple pizza without cheese and some cinnamon sticks… I wonder if that is vegan…

The Butcher, The Baker

Today I overslept and missed French class. Since I'm dropping Russian anyway, I really don't see the point in going all the way to Auburn Hills. The reason I overslept is because some idiot... *cough, cough* JIm *cough* kept me up until like... 5 this morning talking of nothing.

Yesterday wasn't very eventful. I got tired of my hair and tinted some of it purple. It's super light and hardly noticeable. I had an awesome tamale that I found in my parents freezer, but I'm not sure what I'm going to eat today... I'm still in bed. Maybe I'll go shopping for some food... Or maybe I'll go back to sleep. I'm pretty sure going shopping for food is more important, but I'm really digging the idea of another tattoo... but I should probably wait until the other one has healed, so groceries it is.

When I went outside to my car, Lilu was there, whining to be let in at the back porch. I was going to wait until I got back to let him in, but then I noticed his uberlimp and decided to take him inside and call my parents and ask if I should take him to the vet, or wait until they get home tomorrow. Mom said wait, so I went shopping. Everything I bought was 100% vegetarian, at least. I'm rather enjoying this month of vegetarianism before I go hardcore vegan next month. It makes things easier. I mean, I was a vegetarian once before so it's not too hard, but I like it.

When I got home, I was starving, so I had two huge glasses of chocolate soy milk as I waited for the oven to heat up and my faux chicken nuggets to cook. My friend Jim decided to criticize the term "chicken nuggets" if they aren't real chicken... thanks Jim. While my chicken was cooking, I got to talk to my friend Mikey who is in Iowa at college. I haven't talked to him for a few months.

Anyway, I suppose I'll blog some more later, or maybe just tomorrow. I'm pretty sure nothing eventful will happen today... although, I might go get a $25 tattoo at inkslingers, but probably not.
