Today I woke up super early for me and promptly fell back to sleep. My mother bribed me into going to breakfast with a promise of hair gel. We went to a cafe with the grands and I had the most epic tofu scramble ever. It had avacado and tomatoes in it; I'll be wanting more tomorrow.
After breakfast, my mother and I walked to Long's to get hairshit. I literally ran into my uncle and cousin while strolling around looking at the floor which was super awkward. After we were done shopping, we went outside to wait to be picked up by my grandma. While we were out waiting, some 40 year old loser who hated life decided to give me hair advice. He was like, "You should grow out the back blah, blah, blah and wear your 'hawk like that." I ignored him and he kept talking loudly at me while locking his bike up. He clearly didn't understand that his advice was unwelcome.
Any normal person would get the clue to STFU, but this freak didn't seem to get it. Oh well. Anyway, he basically said that I should wear it in a mullhawk, "hey 90's I miss you! come back!" ...Lying. Please don't. I hate it when people refer to a mohawk as a "hawk" just like I hate it when people call tattoos "tats". It sounds retarded and besides, it's a hairstyle and tribe of indigenous peoples; not a bird. I personally prefer to do it up English and call it a mohican. The man's loud suggestions honestly made me laugh my ass off. I suppose this was rude, but so was he.
On his way into the store, finally, he goes, "Believe it or not, I used to call myself gutter punk. I still wear the colours." As soon as the doors closed behind him my mother turns to me and completely deadpan, says, "He used to be gutter punk. Aren't you impressed?" I literally collapsed on the ground laughing. I really did almost pee. My mother is hilarious; and I was highly un-impressed. On his way back out of the shop, he decided to address my mother. "Mom, don't worry, this phase she's in will pass. I dropped out of it after about ten years." As if my mother was remotely ashamed of me. And there is no "phase" that I'm in. I enjoy having unique hair is all. I don't label myself anything as I neither believe in labels nor think I fit under any that exist. Clearly he hated his life and was jealous that I was so comfortable. I suppose he thought I was trying to rebel. I was just a bit of a rebel when I was 17 since I wasn't allowed to do certain things. Being 18 I just do whatever I want and am allowed to anyway, so it's no rebellion. How sad and pathetic this man was.
He took it just a step too far though when he was riding away, calling back, "Lay off the drugs." How fucking dare anyone make assumptions like that about me based on my hair. Just because I'm relaxed and comfortable about myself does not at all mean that I'm on drugs since I'm not angry at the world like he probably was. I mean, yeah, I do hate quite a few people, but that's because as a whole, I think people are stupid, and I'm kind of a genius. Not my fault. I shouted back, "I'm straight-edge, thanks!" Which really isn't true, but it's better than saying, "I rarely smoke pot and I drink responsibly!" besides, I was wearing a shirt that said, "Kiss me. I don't smoke." Durr... fucking hate morons.
After that lovely incident, an excellent woman talked to me about my awesome hair, asked if I was in cosmetology school, which I'm going to be, and said, "Don't worry; I'll run him over when I leave." I gave her a hug. Grandma took my mother and I to a vegan bakery which was aces high. I got short bread and cupcakes, then we picked up my cousin. I watched Home Alone 3 which is the funniest Christmas movie ever.
Sorry! is decidedly my least favourite game in the universe. It sucks and a half.

Close Your Eyes, Clear Your Heart
So this morning I woke up and my right arm hurt like crazy. I guess I slept on it weird. Anyway, brushing my teeth was like torture, I had to do it with my left hand which was just awkward.
My aunt and I went shopping at Target, we didn't really get much. I got us hot chocolate at Starbucks though. I guess everyone here gets a lot of Starbucks, it's not like I'm any different at home though. The Bucks at Eaton is really close.
I talked to Stephanie for a while which was fun and I had an epic phone conversation with Kate.
I've just realized that one of my favourite songs is not about vampires, but pro-vegitarian... check it out.
Anyway, I guess I'm just going to couch (bed) in the hope that when I wake up, my arm will feel better.
Oh. There was an earthquake earlier today. I slept through it.
I hate this place. I want to go home.

Maybe Jackson Does The Astro
Yesterday I went shopping in the morning for Mum's present. I went to FYE and got her a gift certificate as well as one from Borders and some yummy smelling shower gel from bath and body works.I also bought Silverstein's two most recent albums while I was at the mall. After that I headed home for a little bit and then I got starving so I headed over to Mum's and chilled with Moo for a bit. She's the cutest ever. Anyway Mum loved her present and the card. She said she only got me a few presents, but as it turns out, she got me a huge bag full. Ace.
So we went to this cute restaurant called Pete's which was right near Goodrich. I had really good pasta and then for dessert I had fried pineapple with rum sauce which was good as hell. Anyway after that I went home and watched three DVDs which my mother got me for Christmas. John Cleese was a total babe when he was younger.
This afternoon I went to the mall with some christmas money and bought a new belt that actually fits, as well as a Cd player and some headphones since mine are broken and my ipod is totally wonky. I also bought some batteries at target.
After that, I went to the tattoo parlour to get my wings shaded some more, but I ended up just hanging out and making people think I worked there which was pretty funny. Some guy got his tongue pierced and he was pretty boss. Anyway I hung out all day there with some awsome strippers who were from Vegas. Brandon and I went and got slurpees after a bit, came back and smoked a blunt, and then was totally tripping while watching Ricki getting her boyfriend's last name tattooed down her spine. Ouch.
Anyway I drove Brandon home and it was snowing like hell. I kept thinking I was about to slide off the road like I did once last year while driving around with Brad. It was crazy, I swerved up onto someone's lawn to avoid a car, slid for a few houses, and then swerved back onto the road to avoid a tree. All with Brad calmly talking on his phone. Craziness.
I might chill with Eric for a while tonight, but I might just go to sleep.

Making Christmas
I have no idea when I last updated this blog… whether it was before Friday or after. It makes a huge difference, so I guess I’ll just blog for Friday and if it turns out that I already did, I’ll just delete the section, because currently I’m sitting in Anthropology and I have no internet access. Suckage!!!!
Never mind. I just got half-way through Friday before I remembered that I had already blogged about it. Oh well…
So… Saturday I woke up bright and early, went home, packed some clothes and such, then went to pick up mum. I drove to the Walkerville station in Windsor. It smells like beer there… oh yum! I love that smell.
The train ride there wasn’t too bad. My headphones broke. Great. When we got there, it was rainy and gross. Fun… We took, a taxi to our hotel, put our stuff in the room, and then ventured out into the rain to eat yummy vegan food at Fressen on Queen West. We got there and it was totally booked up. Great…
Oh, I forgot to mention… for some reason, I was under the (mistaken) impression that it would be rather warm and balmy in Toronto, so all I brought was a sweatshirt. Fun.
We walked around in the freezing cold rain for a little while before getting a cab. The driver was from Africa or something and didn’t really speak English very well, so we basically spewed out a bunch of bull shit at him. He told my mother that I’m very pretty and look like Boy George. Great…
So anyway, we decided just to go back to the hotel and eat there. The food was pretty good and The Notebook was on TV in the restaurant. After dinner, we went upstairs and watched TV until we fell asleep.
The next morning, we had breakfast at Eaton and went out to find an internet cafĂ© and check out Craig’s List. I found a place pretty quickly and called to see when I could go check it out. It’s in an amazing neighbourhood two feet away from Yonge between College and Dundas, right down the street from Eaton and 2 underground stations.
I got the place. It’s a 4-story building with 1 porch and 2 balconies. I have 9 roommates and I’m moving in January. It’s a short walk from anywhere I could possibly want to go. After that, we went shopping at Eaton. I got 2 way cute shirts at Boathouse. One says “Kiss Me, I don’t smoke.” And the other is just really cute and has cassette tapes on it. I also got a boss new pair of green and black Skull Candy headphones; my signature accessory, as I was the first person to have a pair that I know. It’s my 4th pair… well, sort of, my 3rd pair were just ear buds. We mostly hung out in the hotel after that and watched Hancock before going to sleep.
Monday morning, we had breakfast in the hotel and then went to check out Marvel. After a terrifying subway ride, we got there. Now, I love subways, but traveling with mum and her ridiculous walker which, I have to carry up and down all the stairs with her is a pain in the fucking ass. I hate it.
The director was super nice and he really liked me. I’m so excited to start school there. He was like, “You’re kind of a funky person...” and I’m like, yeah totally, so he’s like, “Yes… I’m checking you out. You should probably work somewhere on Queen West,” and I was like, hell yeah.
So after that, we went shopping again, then I went and met with my landlord Marco. After that, I met mum back at Eaton, we went shopping more and then had some food. I found a new tattoo artist. He’s like Miss Kitty and used to work in a real shop, but now works out of his apartment. Bombass! I'm so fucking cheap... haha. So then we went back to the hotel and I forced mother to watch The Dark Knight with me as she hadn’t seen it yet.
This morning, I nearly killed mum by dropping Pieter Van Den Hoogenband’s name while she was drinking her coffee. Nice… We packed up our stuff and headed out to the train station. We got to board first since she is handi-capped. Sweetness.
The train ride was pretty boring since my internet doesn’t seem to be working… grrr!! I’ll need to get that fixed…
Anyway, I talked to Libby for a while and managed to drop my phone and pop it out of the case while I was falling over mum to get to the bathroom. I talked to Libby and Carol for a while after that before getting home. Yay home.
I only had an hour or so at home before I had to go to Anthropology, which is where I am now. On my way here, though, I called John over at Ink Slingers and checked to make sure that he is free tomorrow. He is, and I’m going over to get one of my wings shaded. Although I don’t really have the money yet, I will soon and I’ll make sure to give him half of my weekly pay each week in December. Yay! I’ll be so glad to have $100 per week instead of $50 like I have now. I’m glad he’ll do it even if I don’t quite have the money yet. He <3s me!
Anyway… this class sucks, so I’m probably going to leave and go home to upload this online and then talk to people online and be a dork. Yay! My battery is dying…
Yeah... I left class. Now I'm talking about sex with Libby and watching A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Change
For the first time in nine years, I can say with complete honesty, I am proud to be a citizen of the United States of America.
For the past nine years I have said that I was Canadian. Which I am as I have dual citizenship, but never once was I at all proud to be an American. I was mortified. The past four years have been even worse. If John Kerry had been elected, I could say, okay, this country made a mistake the first time they elected George Bush. But no. He was reelected for a second term. How that could happen is beyond me, but it was shameful. We got comfortable not working to make change in this country. We had Clinton for eight years. We got lazy and said, well, I guess George Bush isn't too bad. A second term used to be reserved for the best of presidents, which George Bush clearly was not. But this past year or so, we've come out of that laziness and have begun to embrace change, and I am so glad that we have. Right now, this country is in the mud, and we're slowly starting to drag it back out.
Anyway, that's just what I was thinking about when I was driving around this morning. Anyway, I woke up super early, when to Java Hut, got amazing chai tea, and then went to go take the first part of my GED test. Which I will only be taking once because I am that smart. And I didn't study. So I got there, hung out with some fellow Obama fans. Talked about a bunch of things, and then went to take my test. It was on composition and science today. I'm positive I did very well. The writing portion was awesome. Usually on writing tests, you get some dumb essay about school uniforms or whatever. I got to write an essay on who I would spend the day with if I could spend it with anyone. There is really only one answer I could ever possibly respond with when asked that question, the late great John Lennon.
After that, I came to my parents' house and filled out my job applications. Yay. I need to get a job and save at least $200 in order to move to Toronto, so I'm probably not going to be attending any shows that I don't already have tickets for, and I'm going to kiss getting inky goodbye for a while. Shame really, because my artist just lurves working on me. I'll come visit him often though. Apparently I have excellent skin.
I went to the grocery store and got a bunch of food that I can eat with my mother's $50 that she gave me for it. =] Yee. I've already spent 1/2 of my weekly 50 on that 'stein tattoo. And well spent money it was. When I got back, we hung out for a while and then went to the mall to go shopping and to return my filled out job applications. Then we went to Journey's and got some sweet shoes, and to Pac Sun for pants.
When I got home, I decided to shoot my new clothes, and while I was doing so, my tattoo artist called and said he had free show tickets for me since I'm an awesome customer and he probably didn't want them. Boss! So I'm going to see him tomorrow to pick those up.
So after that, we watched Bones and then House MD and had Tofurkey and Applesauce sandwiches. My fave! Only, now we're out of applesauce. Dammit. I'll upload pics tomorrow. I'm super lazy right now. Sorry.

Lava Cake
I really couldn’t sleep last night, so I mostly kind of dozed and when I would happen to wake up, I would reset ‘The Golden Compass’ which I kind of had running on re-run all night. At about 4 or 5, I got tired of that and put on ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’, one of my personal favorites… naturally. At about six, I got up and had breakfast. A fake corndog, pineapples, and the five drops of my soymilk that were left since I’m pretty sure my roommates drank most of it. Thanks guys...
After that, I put some popcorn in the microwave and went and woke up my roommate because he was parked behind me, and the neighbor parks SOOO weird so I really couldn’t get out of the driveway any other way. This was about seven. So anyway, I went and brought my mom the popcorn for breakfast. On my way over, I came to realize something horribly depressing. Summer is 100% and truly over and dead. This is my 18th year and so far, it’s the best year of my life, starting from my birthday, of course.
So anyway, we chilled for a bit, then went to the health food store. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see Hillary Tamm there, because I was pretty sure she was staying at MSU until at least the end of the semester. We had a fun little chat and then my mom and I headed to the mall because I was promised 4 items of clothing and 2 pairs of shoes for my birthday in June and I still hadn’t gotten them.
We went to Hot Topic and I browsed through the gothic Tripp pants, tried some on, and remembered exactly why I don’t wear them. They look ridiculous and highly unattractive, especially on girls. So then I found this amazing bright blue pair of Tripp scene pants, which were crazy awesome. So I tried those on and decided I needed them and another pair of black ones as well. I also got a sleeveless Gir hoodie, which is totally adorable. Love em!
So after that, I popped into Forever 21 and got this sweet grey hat. Viva winter! Anyway, after that, we went to a bike store and checked out all the fixed-gear bikes. I found a totally awesome one. It’s super light and black and awesome. I won’t be able to get it until about Christmas though, but I’m super excited. It’s going to be my main mode of transport when I move to Toronto in January. That and the underground.
Anyway, after that, we came home and I made super yummy lava cakes. We ate them while watching ‘Hocus Pocus’, but I’m pretty sure I fell asleep like, half way through. Oh, and I totally skipped French class to hang out with my dorky mom. But it was so fun!
Anyway, after the movie, I took a nap until 5 or so and then we had dinner and watched ‘Sixteen Candles’. After that, I did the dishes, because I promised. I’ll probably end up staying the night, and then tomorrow Mom will come over and help me put together my dresser… finally, I’ve been putting it off.
