I'm not allowed hairdye in the katimahaus in case anything gets stained.
Other than that, it's pretty fucking awesome here. As you can see from the photos I posted last time, it's fucking beautiful. Everyone is really, really great. We all get along really well.
We got our work positions on Tuesday, and went for the first time Wednesday.
My friend Simon and I work at an elementary school with the most charming and adorable children I could imagine. I definitely wasn't anything like that when I was their age.
I think Simon has a harder time than I do, because their french isn't as good as his, but he can't really speak all that much in English to them either. So... yeah.
We went to a "café" on lunch that was just up the street. It was horrible. It was supposed to be like... Louisiana food. Everything had meat in, and I guess I haven't mentioned, but I'm a vegetarian again. Being vegan is too annoying for everyone else here.
The man sitting at the table behind us was like some crazy retired trucker or something. I accidentally made eye contact with him, and he started talking at us... but we really couldn't understand what he was saying, so we were just like, UH... >_> and laughing so hard about it. It was terrible. I felt so bad, because Simon was facing him, so he just kept looking and talking at him while Simon was going like, "OMG, HELP. ME." and I couldn't really do anything.
After that, we found the café we'd meant to go to in the first place. They have even veggie burgers there! Much better.
The only downside right now is that I'm ill with a cold and we have to walk like half an hour to work through the snow, across town at like 8am. But the school and staff and kids are all really great, so it's worth it I guess.
Now I'll have solid references about working well with children so that I can be an au pair at some point.
Anyway, it's nearly eleven and I'm sick and rather exhausted, so I am going to bed.
I hope to get a cheap bike soon to ride to and from work.

I Stopped Worrying And Learnt To Love The Bomb
Today was my first official day at work. I learnt to make fake IDs. I now have 3 of my own... which is 2 more than I had yesterday. So yeah, expect to hear about some epic tales of clubbing in the near future. I've gotten the 35mm's out and am considering doing a shoot around the city tomorrow before work. Or possibly at work. Or maybe not. I don't know yet. I should take a picture of my bass. It's epically beautiful and has not yet graced the pages of my blog.
The quote of the day is, "You have stretchmarks... did you have a baby?" I was understandably offended... especially since someone caught the tail end of it and asked if I actually am currently pregnant. My reply? "Uh... no. I'm just fat. But thank you for asking." It was mortifying. I've never been asked that in my life.
Dr. Strangelove Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb
Enjoy that.

You Got The Teeth Of The Hydra Upon You
Today was amazing. Well... tonight was, at any rate. I had SO much fun!
Today I went to the bank and they told me that I needed a guardian's signature to open an account since I'm not 19 which was LAME. So I called Mum and she said that I should kindly request Uncle Jay to accompany me to the bank at some point in the near future to do so. I couldn't cash my check, which sucks because I have NO money. GUHFUCKMYLIFE. Anyway, after that, I went on Craig's List really quick and looked up basses. I found this uber pretty Fender sunburst bass. I want it so bad! It's $250 Canadian, so I think if I put aside $50 a week, I can buy it in no time. So great!
Anyway, Andrea gave me her rockstar + vodka lite which was pretty yummy... but it kind of tastes like bug spray or something. Oh well. Kim's boyfriend's older brother and I were talking. His name is Chris. We decided to go to Strange Love instead of Fin's, which, in my opinion, was an awesome decision!! The security guard took a glance at my fake Virginia ID, and nodded me in. I waited until after I got inside to flip out. It was so great. I'm dying to go again next Thursday.
Chris got me a vodka and cranberry juice which was yummy and then we danced for a while. I made a new friend, Rob! He's so nice. It was the funniest thing ever, he kind of fell over on me while we were dancing, and was like, "OMG, I'm SOOO sorry!!!! I had a little too much to drink." He's so adorable. I told him it would be fine as long as he gave me a hug, and he totally did. I told him how cool I thought skate4cancer is, and he gave me even more hugs! Chris decided to go home, so I hung out with Rob and his buddy Cole. Rob bought me a shot of something... I think it was rum? I dunno, it was yummy. He promised me a dance, but then he kind of disappeared, so I guess I'll have to collect it some other time. I hope he doesn't feel too hung over tomorrow. That would suck!
Anyway, I met a bunch of other really cool people. And then I took a taxi home and have NO money. Yay! Oh well. At least I have food. I'll have money soon, I'm sure. I hope to get a job soon as well. I'm working on that. After I see what's going on with the tattoo parlour, I'll either be working there, or go job hunting around. I hope I get the job!!!! Anyway, I'm probably going to watch Love Actually, and then go to SLEEP.
I LOVE TORONTO!
